Adcote School in Shrewbury hosted a “Race for Life” event last week in support of Cancer Research UK.
Nearly 300 pupils, staff and parents from Adcote took part in the charity race around the beautiful grounds of the school for just over 5km (3 miles). The day was a great success with nearly £2,000 raised for the charity.
Headmaster, Gary Wright commented: “This has become an annual tradition for the school, it is a super event, great fun and raises thousands for an important charity. Everyone, during their lives, will know somebody who will suffer from cancer. It is important for our pupils and everyone to recognise that it’s something that we can beat and do something about”.
