Cardiff Sixth Form College (CSFC) continues to lead the way in A-level attainment in the UK. This year a superb 99% of all grades awarded were A*, A or B. In addition, 58% of all grades awarded were A* and 95% of all grades awarded were A* or A. All 158 candidates had at least 1A, 132 had at least 1A* or better and 100 students had 2A* or better.
Students at LVS Ascot are celebrating after bucking the national trend by increasing their proportion of top A-level grades today. The leading independent, all-ability school saw a 34% rise in its proportion of A* and A grades this year despite the ratio of top grades falling slightly nationally. Twenty-three departments boasted a 100% pass rate from Pure and Further Maths to English, Chemistry, Biology, Russian, History, Music and Law, whilst the Extended Project Qualification attracted an A* – A rate of 100%.
Once again independent school St. Dominic’s Brewood has maintained its 100% pass rate for A Level students. With almost 75% achieving A* to B grades and very nearly 25% gaining A* to -A grades, the students and school can be extremely proud of their hard work and commendable performance.
At Adecote School, there was almost a 100% A-level pass rate, with 49% of all grades at A* or A grade equivalent. In addition, nearly a quarter of all grades awarded were A*s. Out of the many exceptional achievements by our girls, Aleksandra Swiatkowska achieved 3 A* and 2 A grades and Maria Derda obtained 2A* and an A grade. The average UCAS points per pupil was an impressive 498.
Here at ISA we are delighted with the continued success of our schools this year and look forward to the next academic year of high achievements.
