ISA Performing Arts News: Arts Educational Schools London Alumnus is National Theatre War Horse Star

3rd October 2017

ArtsEd Day School and Sixth Form alumnus Thomas Dennis is starring in the new touring production of the National Theatre’s War Horse. The UK-wide tour’s press night is taking place on 3 October at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury. The tour continues until February 2019. Click here for tour details.

Thomas takes on this new challenge fresh from being the youngest actor to take on the lead role of Christopher in the West End’s Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Having followed the Acting Pathway in the Day School and Sixth Form, but choosing to go straight into the industry rather than study a degree in Acting, Thomas is a champion of learning by doing. “I remember putting on Fall of the House of Usher with my Year 10 classmates, it’s actually quite a challenging play. Doing the whole show, going through the rehearsal process, performing on stage, that’s how I learnt, you just can’t do it in the classroom.”

Before completing his Sixth Form studies Thomas toured Chalk Farm to Edinburgh, London, New York and Brazil. In the run up to his final A-Level exams in 2015 Thomas played Michael Darling in Peter Pan at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
