The Independent Schools Association runs an extensive programme of annual events for Member Headteachers and their schools.
Training Courses for Independent Schools
The Independent Schools Association’s Professional Development Programme provides a range of high quality training opportunities for member schools. Each year we run over 40 courses across the UK, promoting excellence in independent education and helping Heads to keep up to date with the latest best practice.
ISA’s training programme covers a broad range of themes including preparing for inspections, school development planning, and assessment and tracking. We also run a number of age range specific events such as our EYFS and Sixth Form courses. For more information and booking click here.
Sports Competitions for Independent Schools
The Independent Schools Association’s Sport Programme for schools is one of the largest of its type in the UK. ISA Sport’s competitions are run at both a regional and national level, and include a whole range of sports from swimming, triathlon, cross country and netball to football, basketball, judo and rugby. The range of sports becoming available to ISA pupils continues to grow, and now includes new events such as sailing, indoor skiing and clay pigeon shooting.
ISA believes that experience in extra-curricular activities increases self-esteem and builds fellowship among pupils. Such success supports academic work and both act in tandem to promote high achievement. That is what ISA schools are all about. To find out more about what ISA Sport can offer your pupils click here.
Competitions for Independent Schools
ISA runs a number of prestigious annual competitions for pupils in our schools. ISA’s Essay, Drama and Art Competitions give pupils and schools the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents. We offer prizes in a range of categories. To find out more click here.
The ISA Awards is an annual awards ceremony which recognises and celebrates success in our member schools. Now in its second year, the ISA Awards invites entries from member schools in a range of categories, recognising achievement in academic and extra curricular provision and community and outreach activities. Conferences for Independent Schools
ISA’s twice yearly conferences give members the opportunity to network with over 100 independent school Heads from across the UK, while updating themselves on the very latest educational thinking and best practice.
ISA’s Annual Conference takes place in the Spring Term of each year, while our Autumn Study Conference – which is also open to Deputies and Senior Leaders – follows in November. The events also give Heads the opportunity to network with a number of leading schools suppliers in our conference exhibitions.
