Claires Court Junior Girls and Boys have been celebrating the Festival of Harvest with services and performances to parents and friends of the School.
The boys held a traditional service at All Saints’ Church, with proceeds going to support the work of ‘Maidenhead’s Foodshare’.
The Junior Girls’ Festival of Harvest, held at the College Avenue School, welcomed parents and friends to an afternoon of poetry, song and rhyme, with performances by each class. The following day the girls helped load the boxes into the Salvation Army’s van for distribution to people in need in the local area.
Leanne Barlow, Head of Junior Girls said: “The aim of our Harvest Festival events is to encourage our pupils to think about sharing, how they can be charitable and reflect on how fortunate they are. These celebrations are significant community events in our calendar; we were delighted to welcome so many parents and are very grateful for their donations which will help so many locally.”
