Ofqual and DFE Consultations

14th June 2013

Ofqual has launched a 12 week consultation on GCSE reforms. The consultation will examine the regulatory aspects of proposed changes to GCSEs. Heads are encouraged to respond directly to this, and can do so by clicking here. Alternatively, please submit your comments to ISA HQ as The Academic Policy Committee will be responding on behalf of the Association.

Over the coming weeks Ofqual will be holding a series of events in London, Manchester and Birmingham to help stakeholders find out more about the consultation process. Details and booking can be found at the link here.

A parallel consultation on curriculum content for the reformed qualifications has also been launched by the DfE this month. Full details of the DfE consultation can be found on their website.

ISA’s Academic Policy Committee has responded to a number of other DfE and Ofqual consultations in recent weeks and these responses can be accessed below:

1) The National Curriculum
2) Foreign Languages
3) English GCSE

We will keep Members updated on the outcome of these consultations.
