Students from LVS Ascot put their football skills to the test when they organised a charity tournament for a local mental health charity.
The sixth formers worked with Sport in Mind – a Berkshire based charity who use sport to improve the lives of people experiencing mental health problems.
Students produced a programme for the event at the Madejski Stadium in Reading, refereed matches, and announced awards.
Ben Stephenson, Head of Psychology at LVS Ascot, said:
” The event was a great opportunity for students to work outside of their comfort zones and to meet people with mental illness. There is still a lot of stigma attached to psychological illness and Sport in Mind is trying to change that. The students got to experience first hand that anyone can suffer from mental illness and see the great work being done by Sport in Mind to help these people”
