Lola Cuckney (age 9) is in Year 5 at Moyles Court and is now the 2015 British ‘Mini Girls’ National Champion for Wakeboarding! She won a gold medal in the ‘Mini Girls’ (Under 11) category and also competed in the ‘Girls’ category against girls who were older than her. In that category she came fourth.
The competition took place at Boxend Waterboard Park in Bedford during the Summer holidays.
Lola comments: “I found the competition quite hard so was absolutely thrilled to have won.” She will also be competing in the nationals next year, but will be doing a lot more competing before that. She is taking part in a Charity competition called ‘Clothes for Kids’ where all the entry fees go towards buying clothes for less fortunate children.
Mr Richard Milner-Smith, Headmaster adds: “We wish Lola all the best in her future competitions, we are so very proud of you. It’s exciting to see younger children with so much potential getting involved in such an exciting sport.”
