Music, lights and shining stars brought Maidenhead’s Desborough Suite alive on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November, when Senior Boys, Girls and Sixth Formers from Claires Court showcased their performance ‘Wandering the West End’ to the town.
The audience of parents, friends of the school and the general public were taken on a musical spectacular journey where they were treated to classical favourites from Les Misérables to Cabaret and more modern hits such as Wicked and Matilda.
Head of Drama, Magda Olivier, commented on the production, “The School provides an annual opportunity for our pupils to perform in public. This was a fantastic chance for students to develop their performance skills, team-work and self-confidence. The show allowed the performers to try out something different outside of the curriculum, learn skills in new performance areas and to collaborate with students from the other school sites.”
James Wilding, Academic Principal added, “The show probably redefined the West End. We saw outstanding performances from our leading boys and girls, and the ensemble pieces were shining examples of how to bring musical theatre to life.”
