Alton Convent Show Jumping Competition

17th November 2015

Alton Convent recently hosted their very own show jumping competition, and were rewarded with a fabulous day of competition. The sun shone and hundreds of competitors turned out to show their support, from schools, riding clubs and pony clubs across the south east.

The grass-roots ring provided a really encouraging environment for those with limited experience. Competitors as young as 5 years old were able to compete and there were lots of winning smiles. It was lovely to see the progress of each rider and the success they achieved. For some, it was their first experience of being in a team, and they were able to support their fellow competitors with lots of cheering and camaraderie.

In the main ring, competition was very hotly contested, with everyone keen to win some of the lovely rosettes, sashes and prizes that were on offer. The standard was high, and spectators enjoyed lots of exciting jump offs for both team and individual placings. The jumping and style class was won by Amy Robinson on Apple from the Petersfield pony club, and she was very proud to receive an embroidered rug as part of her prize.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this wonderful day possible; from our sponsors, to the team of helpers, parents, staff and pupils, as well as all the competitors who gave us such an enjoyable competition. We very much hope to make this an annual event and look forward to your support in the future.
