Talented sportswoman Lottie Trevethan, a Year 8 student at Malvern St James Girls’ School, who is on the English Talent Programme for Modern Pentathlon, has been obtaining wonderful results in a gruelling schedule of events.
On 24th April she took part in the British Modern Triathlon in the U15 Girls category which consists of a 100m Swim, and the combined event consisting of two 800m runs with two sets of laser targets shot in between. Despite very stiff competition Lottie was awarded a Bronze medal at this event.
On 30th April she competed in the U15 Girls category at the Millfield Pentathlon which consists of all five events (swim, ride, run, shoot and fence). This is particularly challenging as competitors are given an unknown pony to ride and are only allowed 15 minutes to warm up before attempting a twelve fence clear round in an optimum time! Lottie did incredibly well and won the overall U15 girls event and also the individual disciplines in the fencing, the swim and the combined event. She rode a clear round ride in 59 seconds – just one second under the optimum time!
Finally, she travelled to Sheffield on Bank Holiday Monday to compete at the British Youth Fencing Championships in the U14 Girls Epee, where she received a medal for making the final 8 placings.
