Cross-Country Success for Shoreham College

2nd February 2017

Shoreham College once again hosted the ISA London South Regional Cross-country Championships at Buckingham Park, Shoreham.  22 runners who had qualified from placing well in the College Inter-house competition, were selected and turned out to run for the College around the tough Buckingham Park course.  The first races of the afternoon were the Under 12 boys’ and girls’ 2000m events.  We had several notable finishes in these two events, Georgia finished 5th and Rebecca finished 11th in a field of 37 girls from nine ISA schools in the London South Region.  In the boys’ event, Marley finished a very impressive 2nd place and won a silver medal for his performance and Zak, of Year 8, finished in 11th.

In the older age groups, Adam won the bronze medal for his 3rd place finish in the boys’ under 16 with a very well managed run, and Alfie came in a very respectable 13th place out of 41 runners.

In the Under 18 boys’ category, Luca , running his last cross country event for the College finished in 1st place.  Luca has competed in this event since he was in Year 3 and has won it on numerous occasions over the last 8 years, we congratulate Luca on his outstanding contribution to the college’s athletics team.
