A pupil at Ballard School in Hampshire has competed in the EU Nations Water Polo Tournament representing the Welsh national team.

Sarah Rogers, a pupil at Ballard School in New Milton, has represented Wales at the EU Nations Junior Girls Water Polo Cup Tournament in Prague, a major competition which brings together teams from countries across Europe in addition to South Africa. Beginning her journey, Sarah was selected to represent Wales following her participation in the National Age-Group Finals in Liverpool where her team won Gold. She then joined the Wales team, travelling to the Czech Republic for the EU Nations Water Polo Cup.

Sarah’s mother, Jill Rogers, said:

“I would like to thank Ballard School for all their support and for releasing Sarah from school to attend these events. Sarah is really looking forward to representing Wales at their next tournament.’’

Throughout the tournament, Sarah was a key team member playing in all matches and scoring in all games. Sarah will represent Wales once again in September at the North Sea Cup which takes place in Edinburgh.

Alastair Reid, Headmaster at Ballard School said:

“At Ballard, we encourage students to take part in sport through an extensive and varied sports programme. We are happy to support our students in pursuing their sporting ambitions by enabling them to study away from school. Sarah is a great inspiration to our other pupils and we would like to congratulate her on all her sporting achievements.’’
