On Saturday 24 June nearly 200 performers danced, sang and dazzled their way through two sparkling shows at the Albany Theatre in Coventry to packed auditoriums. From Nursery children to Adult Tappers – the cast delivered an engaging and professional show that left audience members tapping their feet and wiping away proud tears of delight.
Each 75 minute act was packed with colourful, professionally produced extracts of song and dance, ranging from West End hits such as “Kinky Boots” to numbers from the recent popular film, “Trolls”.
Pattisons` full time school pupils and Musical Theatre students, together with the weekly Theatre Arts pupils, demonstrated yet again their ability to entertain at the highest level. Beautifully choreographed numbers covering numerous genres, blended seamlessly with the school’s junior, senior and chamber choirs. From classical ballet to street dance, from camouflaged contemporary to a dazzling stage full of 42nd Street tappers, no one could have failed to notice the high level of production and the sheer enjoyment that shone out from every performer.
At the end of the final curtain the Principal, Elizabeth McConnell, Betty Pattison`s daughter, took to the stage in person to thank the cast, parents and staff for all the hard work and support that had been given.
Show director and Pattisons` Head of Theatre Arts, Monique Roberts, commented on the professionalism of every cast member and reflected that this was the legacy of which Miss Pattison herself would have been most proud.
