LTA Northern Tennis Coach of the Year, Ben Bush, has become an instant hit at Hulme Hall.
Ben, who is currently Club Coach at Davenport Lawn Tennis Club, has joined the Hulme Hall Team to boost skills and provide the opportunity for pupils to take advantage of the amazing health benefits of tennis.
Said Rachael Allen, Headteacher, “We are delighted to have secured the services of such a prestigious coach. Ben brings with him a wealth of experience in the field and a real passion for tennis.”
Ben was recently awarded Cheshire Coach of the Year and subsequently went on to win LTA Coach of the Year for the North. He is one of five coaches who will now be competing for National Coach of the Year.
Said Ben, “I am surprised and delighted to have been given the award for a job that I love. My aim is to make each session challenging and focused whilst keeping them fun for all involved.”
The school is thrilled to add tennis to its sporting opportunities. At Hulme Hall pupils are encouraged to participate in a variety of sports from trampolining to cricket and lacrosse.
Miss Allen is keen to encourage pupils to take advantage of the coaching as tennis is proven to have significant benefits. As well as helping with problem-solving and hand-eye co-ordination, the sport also builds muscular and bone strength in children and is good for aerobic fitness and cardiovascular health.
Ben will be coaching at Hulme Hall weekly throughout the summer term.
