Ballard School’s Under 13s girls’ team have brought home Silver from the national Independent Schools Association (ISA) Netball Tournament.
Skilled young players from New Milton independent school, Ballard School, reached the national finals of the Independent Schools Association (ISA) Under 13’s Netball Tournament and took home Silver. Held at the Queen Elthelburga’s Collegiate in York, the ISA U13 Tournament gathered the best junior netball players from schools across the UK.
Ballard’s squad, which was comprised of Amber, Brogan, Isabel, Betty, Octavia, Hannah, Sophie G, Sophie S and Maisie, demonstrated composure and adaptability throughout their matches to exceed all expectations and gain Silver. The team made a superb start to the tournament, coming first in their Pool after notable victories against Alton School and Stafford Grammar School. Following the triumphs, the girls proceeded to the Cup semi-final against Claire’s Court School. The match showcased a high level of netball from both teams, with the Ballard girls’ commitment and vigilance being repaid with a victorious 10-8 final score.
In the final stage of the competition, Ballard girls competed against Princethorpe College who had gone unbeaten throughout the whole tournament. The Ballard School squad raised their game again, delivering a thrilling and nail-biting match. Despite Ballard scoring in the final minute to make the score 12-12, a Golden goal ensued and Princethorpe managed to secure the crucial winning point and the Gold medal. Following the competitive match Ballard School girls left with a well-earned Silver.
