We have just completed the first of our new Athlete of the Month initiative, a monthly rolling event on our Twitter page for teachers to nominate a pupil with outstanding contributions to sports both in and outside of their school. The nominations were fantastic and it made for a tricky decision to choose three finalists. ISA schools can be very proud of their pupils’ achievements.
Congratulations to Chloe V, she has been competing in athletics for about 4 years, competing at a regional and national level, and was the ISA national champion twice in Long Jump. Last year she decided to take part in the Discover Your Gold programme which aims to find athletes that have the potential to be successful in a different sport to what they are in currently. After an initial round of testing and two further phases, Chloe was one of ten girls selected by British Cycling to work with them as a talent transfer athlete for an initial period of six months, this is to see if she could gain the skills necessary to join their world class programme full time. Chloe is now training five times a week and going on residential camps all over the UK to have intense training, all of which she enjoys massively.
