We have just completed the fourth round of our new Athlete of the Month competition, a monthly rolling event on our Twitter page for teachers to nominate a pupil with outstanding contributions to sports both in and outside of their school. We received some fantastic nominations this month, and would like to congratulate all of our nominees and shortlisted athletes for all their achievements; the dedication and hard work has been so inspirational to see. ISA schools should be very proud of their pupils.
This months winner is Kiera from Colchester High School, CONGRATULATIONS Kiera!
Kiera is an amazing role model for all pupils at the school, especially the girls. Kiera is the current ISA National Year 7 150
0m record holder and broke the record in the summer by 7 seconds. In the last month she has competed in the English Schools Cross Country in Leeds and finished 26th out of 350 runners in the Junior Girls category and came home as the first Year 8 girl in South East
England. Kiera then went on to win the ISA National cross country title in an really exciting Year 7 & 8 girls race at Rugby School.
Kiera has also been very busy running for Essex in the last month and has been Essex champion for the last 6 years. Her results for the county have earned her a place in the London Mini Marathon (Representing South East England).
Well done Kiera, from everyone at ISA!
