October #athleteofthemonth 2019

4th November 2019

We are pleased to be able to announce our October 2019 Athlete of the Month Winner! Following some truly inspiring and impressive achievements, our winner stormed to victory with just under 100 votes on our Twitter page. This month’s winner is Ella from Huddersfield Grammar School, CONGRATULATIONS Ella!

Ella is a polite, diligent and thoughtful student, who works incredibly hard. She is ranked 4th in Great Britain and 3rd in England in Judo. Last month she represented England at the Commonwealth Judo Championships and got all the way to the final. In the semi-final Ella beat the girl ranked 2nd in England and narrowly lost in the final against the girl ranked Number 1 in the country. Her positive attitude and determination to be the best version of herself has led her to this success, whilst somehow still keeping on top of her studies. Next month she will be competing for Great Britain in Slovenia, where she will take part in the Cadet European Cup. Huddersfield Grammar are incredibly proud of Ella and her achievements.

The Athlete of the Month competition, is a monthly rolling event on our Twitter page for teachers to nominate a pupil with outstanding contributions to sports both in and outside of their school. We received some fantastic nominations this month, and would like to congratulate all of our nominees and shortlisted athletes for all their achievements this month; the dedication and hard work has been so inspirational to see. ISA schools should be very proud of their pupils.

Special mention to our October Shortlisted Students:

  • Ellie from Rookwood School
  • Tommy from Russell House School
