Students at the Instituto Espanol Vicente Cañada Blanch join the cause for International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Last Monday (25 November) was The United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women – a campaign aimed at preventing violence and suffering towards women and girls around the world. 1 in 3 women and girls experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, most frequently by an intimate partner. The United Nations campaign works to achieve equality, development and peace, as well as the fulfillment of women and girls’ human rights.
The Cañada Blanch Spanish School decided to focus on preventing violence against teenage girls, and the pupils have created a short film to raise awareness on the issue. Through education, the school aimed to alert their students to the behaviours that we often normalise, but must learn to avoid.
