On 29 November the children at the Ursuline Preparatory School visited the Christmas Bazaar in the school hall to do their Christmas shopping.
This is a very exciting time for the children and something that they look forward to all year. The bazaar is run by the very talented PFA (Parent, Friends, Association) it takes a lot of planning by the team to make sure that the shopping day is a success for the children.
There are many stalls for the children to buy from, including gifts for pets, dads, grandads, mums, nans and siblings. Each stall is set up to appeal to the children. This is such a special event, with lots of mums and dads helping the children to buy and wrap up presents. It is a fantastic start to the Christmas celebrations within school.
This year the bazaar made a whopping £2120, which is going to be given to a local charity that the school have supported in the past, Wipe Away Those Tears, which aims to grant a wish and bring a sparkle into the lives of terminally or seriously ill children in Essex.
Mrs Jenny Halford, chair of the PFA was delighted that many parents were able to take time out to come and support the PFA on the day. It was so lovely to see that joy on the faces of the children as they entered the magical world of Christmas shopping for their loved ones.
