DLD College London is triumphant as it celebrates its fifth national award win this academic year, bolstering the college’s official status as a multi-award winning school.
Most recently, the leading independent boarding and day school, situated in the heart of London, was victorious in the Boarding Schools’ Association (BSA) Award for Wellbeing and Mental Health Initiative.
The BSA annual awards are an opportunity to celebrate the achievements, hard work, and dedication of schools and individuals in boarding. DLD College London was presented with the much-coveted accolade in recognition of the work that the school has been doing to develop the character of its students, aimed at increasing self-awareness and the development of the students as leaders. The national award celebrates schools that have embedded initiatives which provide supportive environments and programmes that enhance self-esteem, strengthen the school community, and activities that promote healthy choices.
The latest honour follows hot on the heels of an enviable number of other prestigious award wins. The school has been recognised as the Independent Schools’ Association (ISA) Awards 2020 ‘Innovation in Pupil Voice’ winner, the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2020 ‘Special Judges’ Award’ winner, Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2020 ‘Boarding School of the Year’ winner, and the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools, Boarding School Mental Health Gold Award recipient – the first school in the UK to achieve this status.
In addition to their exemplary award-winning success, the school has also received various other notable accolades including the TES Independent Schools Awards 2021 ‘Wellbeing Initiative of the Year’, Highly Commended Finalist; Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2020 ‘International Student Experience’, Finalist; TES Independent Schools Award 2020 ‘Boarding School of the Year’, Finalist.
DLD College London Principal, Irfan Latif commented on the achievements, “We are exceptionally honoured to be adding yet another highly-acclaimed national accolade to our already impressive trophy cabinet. It has been an outstanding year of recognition for our school, especially during this challenging time, which makes winning these awards even more special. I am very proud of our DLD community – our staff, students, parents and Governors who make the impossible possible every day. These awards are testimony to the achievements of our hard-working staff members and students, and firmly establishes DLD College London as a leading independent day and boarding school in the UK.”
