In Covid-free years, the ISA East Anglia Regional Netball Tournament is held in March.
Schools were delighted that Mr. N Smith, the ISA East Anglia Sports Coordinator, decided to run the tournament out of season on 11 June 2021, as pupils in the region were extremely disappointed to have missed so much netball over the last 18 months.
The teams came from far and wide to include, Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex.
It was an extremely enjoyable day and the girls from Upper 2 (year 6) and Lower 2 (Year 5) entered into the competitive spirit of the event.
The Ursuline Preparatory School, Brentwood, team played with great determination and were unbeaten all day.
In the final match, they were up against Finborough School who had also been unbeaten throughout the tournament. After a tightly fought first half, the score was 5-2 to Ursuline. In the second half, the girls held their composure and played some of their best netball, making plenty of interceptions and not missing a shooting opportunity. This hard work paid off as the final score was 11-3 to Ursuline, making them the regional ISA champions for the second year in a row.
Mrs Wilson, Headmistress of Ursuline Preparatory School, was delighted with the way the team performed and it was fantastic to see them play in competitive matches again.
