Luckley House School is delighted to share an outstanding set of A level exam results which represent an incredible achievement after such a difficult year for students.
We are delighted that 66% of grades achieved were at A* – A with, 45% of Luckley students achieving three A-A* grades each – a phenomenal achievement.
100% of our talented Drama students achieved an A*, with 100% A*-A grades for our Art, Geography, Music and Chemistry students and 100% A*-B in Biology, Maths and History.
Behind these impressive grades are the individual successes:
Head Girl, Poppy P, has secured her first-choice place at the University of Exeter to study Exercise and Sport Science after achieving A*AB. Poppy said; “I am so relieved; we have all worked so hard for these results and feel a huge sense of achievement. As a year group we have learnt so many life lessons over the past two years, about resilience and determination to succeed. The pandemic has made us realise how hard you have to work in life to succeed, but also how important friends are. We have grown so close as a group and will be lifelong friends.”
Heidi L achieved an impressive three A*s in Drama, English Literature and History, securing her place at Kings College, London to study War Studies and History. Salome L (Heidi’s mother and a Governor at the school) said; “I am so proud of what Heidi has achieved and also of what the School has achieved with her. I am just so thankful!”
Kayleigh W excelled with three A*s in Geography, Psychology and Drama and is heading to the University of Southampton to study Psychology. Kayleigh said; “I am ecstatic! I was not expecting to get three A*s and am just so relieved after such a period of the unknown. I am just so happy!””
Abigayle Y also achieved an outstanding set of results with three A*s in Business, Drama and English Literature. Abi has accepted a place at the prestigious Reed Drama School. Abi said; “It is a massive relief! Our whole Sixth Form experience has been affected by Covid and it’s not just the individual success that I am pleased with; it is fantastic to see everyone else succeed too. We have grown so close as a year group and I am thrilled for everyone!”
Lauren H is taking up a fantastic Project Management Construction Degree Apprenticeship. Lauren’s results were an impressive two A*s and an A in Psychology, Drama and Geography. Lauren said; “I am so happy. I can’t wait to start my degree apprenticeship at the end of August. It feels so strange that my time at school has come to an end and I am actually going to be working in a real job, as well as fitting in my degree studies.”
Finola K has secured a place at the University of Birmingham to study Law with her three A grades in English Literature, Business and Music.
This is just a snapshot of the successes of our students. In fact all of our students will go on to the university of their choice (with over 60% securing places at Russell Group universities) or on to prestigious placements at art and drama schools including impressive degree apprenticeships.
Head Areti Bizior said; “ I am so proud of our student’s achievements. Throughout their A Level studies, despite the incredibly difficult conditions, they have worked so hard and remained 100% committed to achieving their very best in their A levels. Credit must also go to the wonderful teachers at Luckley who have supported the students throughout the past two years, with innovative and creative ways of ensuring that first class teaching and learning continued, even when we couldn’t be together in the classroom. An amazing achievement for all which really does show that at Luckley, ‘where there is belief, there is possibility’. I wish all our students the very best in the next stage of their lives!”
