A Cappella, Italian for ‘in the manner of the chapel’ has a religious origin, but the genre has continued to
grow and change through the years, with the early 20th Century’s Barbershop Quartets to today’s popular film franchise, Pitch Perfect and multi-Platinum selling group Pentatonix giving it a modern twist. Open to all ages, this competition is set to be a new challenge for music students to work across the year groups and produce a vocally charged performance.
Update: Sadly, due to the government restrictions and guidelines we had to cancel the event this year. We will communicate the date for the competition in 2022 as soon as possible, we hope you will be able to take part.

A Cappella Competition 2020 – Results
We are pleased to announce the winners of the first ISA A Cappella Competition. The standard and variety was phenomenal leading to some very hard decision making for our judges, The Sons of Pitches. Well done to everyone who took part.
Judged by BBC2’s ‘The Naked Choir with Gareth Malone’ winners Sons of Pitches. The Sons of Pitches are one of the premiere vocal groups currently working in the UK. With soaring vocals, stellar set pieces and mind-bending improvised numbers they are taking the world of entertainment by storm and it’s all without instruments. They have won multiple awards in the world of A Cappella music and their videos have had over three million views on their YouTube channel.
