Governance Training and Review

Richard Levinge is the Director of Ease Training Limited, founded in 2013. Richard is Chair of Governors at a large Special Needs School, recently rated Outstanding by Ofsted (June 2017). He also chairs the Advisory Board of an Independent Special School.

Richard has a passion for practical training based on many years training experience with roles in the Royal Navy, Financial Services, Legal Services and most recently, Education. Richard is determined that Ease Training consultants will bring relevant, current thinking to Governance training, for both schools and charities. With the increasing pressures on Governors and Trustees, Ease Training offers bespoke advice, and structural reviews, as well as induction training and planning events for Governors and Charity Trustees. The aim is to help them understand the latest rules, the required behaviors, and to excel in these critical roles in our schools and voluntary organisations.

 

Independent Schools’ Consultant

Linde Melhuish has had seven years successful experience as the Principal of a senior boarding/day school, she has recently been an ISI Team Inspector (Education and Compliance) and is a Governor at two local independent all-age boarding/day schools, as well as Foundation Governor for a Church Senior School. As a governor, she also oversees safeguarding, safer recruitment and pastoral matters. She has also had four years experience as the independent schools representative on a Local Safeguarding Children’s Board. Linde has spent the majority of her career in the Independent Sector, where she has extensive experience and knowledge of both co-educational and single sex schools, including boarding. She has made senior leadership appointments as a Consultant, Head and a Governor, as well as conducting Heads’ appraisals. She is experienced in Governor training and development. Using her training and experience of inspecting, she can offer independent schools and colleges assistance in compliance review matters.  Additionally, Linde has extensive experience of the international market, both in terms of marketing and in ensuring schools understand the academic and pastoral needs of overseas boarders. She also acts as a regional coordinator for a key International Student guardianship agency linked to AEGIS.

Hilary Moriarty was for eight years National Director of the Boarding Schools’ Association, supporting and representing more than 400 British member schools, both independent and state maintained.  A former Head, she was a member of the DfE working party which revised the National Minimum Standards for Boarding Schools. Qualified to lecture in Further Education, she has taught in colleges, in grammar and comprehensive schools, and spent thirteen years leading independent day and boarding schools.  An experienced inspector since 1999, she has carried out a number of successful projects for Ease Training, particularly based on external compliance review and standard checking. Hilary is currently a Governor in both Independent and State sectors.

 

Independent Schools’ Consultant

Chris Corr has worked in education for 15 years, mostly within the independent school sector. His experience spans single sex and mixed schools, maintained and independent, from EYFS to 6th form including boarding. He has been a Class Teacher, Head of Department, Senior Leader, Governor and School Inspector. Chris has worked for some of the UK’s most outstanding independent schools. He has an in depth knowledge of the Independent School Standards Regulations which, combined with his school leadership and inspection experience, makes him well placed to provide advice, guidance, training and leadership on all matters of regulatory compliance.
