Deborah Leek-Bailey OBE

Deborah has been national Chairman of the Independent Schools Association, on the board of the Independent Schools Council and Chaired the Cross Association Leadership group (CAL), She commenced chairmanship of the Department for Education ISSP (Independent State School Partnership) forum in the autumn of 2013, at the request of Lord Nash. She is also Vice President of ISA and a trustee of Prince William’s charity, Child Bereavement UK. In 2012 Deborah founded DLB Leadership Associates LTD, in conjunction with several other colleagues experienced in the realm of Leadership and Change Management, compliance, mediation and Marketing. She welcomes discussion and questions, and is clearly passionate about standards in education and the role which leadership plays in achieving this. Deborah received the OBE (Order of the British Empire) in the New Year’s Honours List 2013 for her services to education. An adjudicator of the Independent School Awards, school inspector, education advisor to the DFE and Vice President of the ISA, Deborah has extensive leadership experience in both the maintained and independent school sectors. For 15 years, she was Headteacher of Babington House School in Kent, leading it from “Satisfactory” to “Excellent” in all areas of school life”.
