I have spent over 44 years in independent education as teacher, subject and faculty leader, housemaster, assistant/deputy head and headteacher. I have worked in coeducational and single sex schools, all ability and all through schools which gives me wide breadth of experience and expertise. My servicer as an A Level Chief Examiner gave me significant insights into the national examination system. Working as an ISI Team Inspector developed my skills and experience in evaluating school outcomes and strengths and weaknesses.
In 2017 I decided to step back from school based full time employment and now work as an independent education consultant.
I have led a wide range of ISA courses, including for the last 3 years the Assistant and Deputy Heads Conference. I am passionate about improving educational outcomes for children and in supporting independent schools in facing the competitive and educational challenges that they face in a rapidly changing social, economic and technological environment.
Paul is a Founding Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching (FFCCT) and is now working as an independent school improvement consultant.
