Independent School in Malvern

Malvern St James is a leading Boarding and Day School for girls aged 4-18. It is a dynamic School where every girl plays a crucial role and has a strong sense of self-worth. Learning takes pride of place, individuality flourishes and self-development results in building essential skills for life.

MSJ recognises each girl as an individual and fully supports her every endeavour. New talents are explored and discovered within an inspirational climate which encourages risk-taking and sets high expectations.

Through our distinctive approach, we create a close-knit community of intelligent young women, each with the courage to challenge convention, the confidence to make her own decisions and the strength of conviction to be herself.

Girls benefit from exceptional teaching, and a culture which inspires a passion for learning; as well as cutting-edge facilities including an award-winning STEM Centre, dedicated Drama Centre and an outstanding Sports Centre.

Aspiration, achievement and rigour lie at the heart of the School, and girls are encouraged to explore and discover their academic and extra-curricular talents. The MSJ Aspiration Programme focuses on preparation for the most competitive UK and international universities and career pathways.

Every girl matters to us, and our size means that we can offer an individually tailored education.

Enrichment is embedded in both the Senior and Prep School. An outstanding array of opportunities – from Academic disciplines to Expressive Arts, Sport, and more – is available to pupils. Debating, Young Enterprise, National Olympiads and Challenges, Leiths Cookery, STEM Club, and Coding Club are just a selection of what is on offer, while Musicians present regular Performers’ Platforms and Drama students present a number of productions, both large and small, across the School year.

The School combines the best of tradition and history, along with a modern, forward-thinking outlook. As well as full or weekly boarding, girls can flexi-board one, two or three nights per week.

The Prep Department and Senior School sit together on the main school site. Boarding houses are a stone’s throw away, and a short walk from the town of Malvern where girls can go to shop, have coffee, or to see a film or play as they grow older and more independent.

There is an extensive MSJ bus service, travelling to and from School, covering five counties.
