The Association is made up of 15 colleagues who work from our Head Quarters in Great Chesterford, Essex. HQ Staff organise and manage the implementation of all ISA services.
There are 7 Regional Ambassadors, who work remotely to represent each ISA Area. They offer an additional level of support for our members and provide pastoral visits to all schools on a yearly basis.
This is an honorary role, elected by the Membership with a five-year term of office. Lord Lexden OBE represents the Association in the House of Lords.
The Executive Council comprises approximately 30 Member Heads and Honorary Members. They are Trustees of the Association who meet regularly to consider the issues that most affect independent education, as well as how we can improve the services that we provide for our Members and the wider educational community.
There are 7 committees that cover areas such as Inspections, Education and Finance. Committee meetings are 3 times a year, and help to facilitate the function of the Executive Council.
Committees are in place for each of the 7 regions, who provide local support and advice to new and existing Members. They are run by ISA Members and teaching staff, who run their own activities, sport and art competition qualifiers, and committee meetings.
A number of Members are appointed to represent ISA on external educational bodies. If you have issues that you would like to be raised at a national level, you may contact the relevant ISA representative.
