The Gundog Challenge, hosted by The Gundog Company, is designed for beginners, to raise awareness of handling and training of gundogs. The competition is open to all primary school children from 3-12 years of age at the time of the event. The Gundog Company we be visiting ISA schools during 2016, to give demonstrations within the school. They will set up an area, and show the children how to handle and train the dogs. Pupils who wish to take part will be invited to practice the commands that they saw in the demonstration.
Two children will be presented with a certificate as finalists and will progress to the ISA Gundog Challenge national final at the at Midland Game Fair on 17 September 2016. All finalists, along with parents, will receive free passes to the weekend event. The winner of the national final will receive £2000 worth of playground equipment for their school, courtesy of Red Monkey Play, and the annual ISA Junior Challenge Trophy. There will also be prizes for runners up and all entrants will receive a small gift.
This competition aims to encourage children and young adults to explore the industry of working dogs, and provides an excellent stepping-stone for those wishing to take part. We welcome applications from all schools, regardless of size or previous experience with Gundogs. The Gundog Company ask for a small donation towards their dogs and entry to the national final is free of charge.
