Gary Clarke, Founder of the First Ever UK Disabled Strongman Championships

Gary ClarkeOn 29th August of this year, the first ever UK Disabled Strongman took place at Northwood Stadium in Stoke-on-Trent. The event was founded by Strongman Gary Clarke, a Somerset based athlete who is determined to raise the profile of Disability Sport through the means of Strongman. Judged by the former World Strongest Man, Magnús Ver Magnússon, the event was a huge success and is hopefully the beginning of an increased focus on this particular area of sport. The Independent Schools Association fully supports Gary and we hope to work together in the future to help raise the profile of disability sports in schools. To convey his message, Gary is keen to travel around the UK providing talks and demonstrations to as wider audience as possible. He is an inspiration to all and the perfect role model for any aspiring athlete. Keep up the amazing work Gary! Please keep checking the ISA sports website for updates on Disability Sport.
