Professional Development

At ISA we understand that proactive professional development is an essential element for school staff to stay up to date, maintain best practice and offer the very best education to their pupils.  Our Professional Development Programme provides high quality training opportunities for a wide range of school staff, promoting excellence in independent education across the board.

We are pleased to be able to offer a range of online training via Zoom, as well as our usual in-person events which provide an excellent forum to meet and network with colleagues from other schools.

You can find a list of training courses and book places here.

Why is CPD important?

"Evidence suggests that quality CPD has a greater effect on pupil attainment than other interventions schools may consider, such as implementing performance-related pay for teachers or lengthening the school day"

"Increasing the availability of high-quality CPD has been shown to improve teacher retention problems, particularly for early-career teachers"

"Professional development is more accessible for teachers and has a greater impact when it receives sustained support from school leaders"
