Pupils at Ursuline Preparatory School enjoy ISA Regional Athletics event
On Friday 25 June, the Ursuline Preparatory School, Brentwood, took a mixed team of children from Upper 2 (year 6) and Lower 2 (year 5) to an ISA Regional Athletics meet at Garon Park, Southend.
It was a very successful day for the team. Every child tried their best and were rewarded with some wonderful results.
Joseph M, Edward P, Rosie Q and Joseph R all came away with gold medals coming first in their events. A special mention must go to Joseph M who broke his personal best in the long jump competition recording 4.2m, which is a fantastic achievement.
The team were also successful in the relay event with the Upper 2 boys coming in first and the girls from Lower and Upper 2 finishing in second place.
Mr Lewis, Head of Boys PE, said that he was delighted with the results; the children had a great time and were a credit to the school. It was lovely to see them partaking in an athletics event after such a long time.
