Aims of the course
Today’s course will serve as a valuable introduction to those addressing LGBT+ matters in their school and provide a useful refresher for those with greater professional experience of the topic - in a fast-moving arena.


Educational Action Challenging Homophobia (EACH)
Jonathan is the Director of Educational Action Challenging Homophobia (EACH) with over forty years’ experience of teaching, training and book authorship on LGBT+ matters and anti-discrimination resources for the Criminal Justice System, Education, NHS plus national and local government.
As a Government adviser he’s been commissioned four times by the English and Welsh administrations to generate national anti-bullying guidance for schools. He’s currently assisting the Welsh Government with the revision of its statutory guidance to schools: “Rights, Respect, Equality” – the existing Guidance to which he was centrally integral.
Jonathan’s books “How To Stop Homophobic and Biphobic Bullying: A Practical Whole School Approach” and “That's So Gay! – Challenging Homophobic Bullying” continue to sell internationally.
He most recently contributed the chapter on the bullying of children and young people in Wales to the international book, “Bullying: Global Case Studies in Policy and Prevention for Young People”: to be published April 2026.
In recognition of his services to Education, the Criminal Justice System, NHS, and His Majesty’s Government Jonathan was bestowed the Member of the British Empire in the 2025 King’s New Year’s Honours.
