Do you aspire to run a school, or are you new in post looking for ideas, confidence and knowledge. This course is run by Andrew Hampton, former Chair of ISA who was a Headteacher of independent schools for 18 years. The course is based on his recent book ‘How to Run a School’ and will include topics such as:

  • How to create and hone down your vision and values as a Headteacher 
     
  • Working with pupils: how to inspire, motivate and raise attainment
     
  • Working with staff: how to get the best from all the employees in your setting
     
  • Working with Parents: how to create effective partnerships with parents that work in the best interests of the pupils
     
  • Working with Governors or Proprietors: how to form effective and mutually supportive relationship with those ‘above’ the Headteacher
     
  • Working with money: how does the money side of things really work? Learn about EBITDA, Depreciation, Marginal Costs and how to write a budget  

The course is interactive, with participants invited to share their thoughts, experiences and concerns.
