This course will give opportunity for delegates to:

  • Observe a filmed lesson and review the impact of the teaching on the learning as inspectors will do;
  • Consider how the evidence is gathered;
  • Discuss the use of self-evaluation and interviews, and have opportunity to ask questions

Course aims:

  • To understand the requirements of compliance and quality inspections
  • To prepare the documentation required for inspection
  • To prepare the school for inspection, including a sample lesson observation
  • To use the inspection process as part of improving outcomes for pupils

  • To understand how inspectors will evidence the observation of lessons
  • To consider how other evidence is gathered, particularly through interviews
