This focused one day training is designed specifically for Designated Safeguarding Leads and Deputy DSLs working in independent schools who want clarity, confidence and practical direction in an increasingly complex safeguarding landscape.

Beth brings nearly 20 years of frontline experience supporting adults and children at risk. Through her work with Ella Savell-Boss Ltd Safeguarding Consultancy, she supports a number of independent schools across the UK as well as international schools. The team has particular experience in contexts where affluence can mask vulnerability, including affluent neglect, complex family dynamics and high expectation environments. This means the training speaks directly to the realities DSLs face in independent settings, rather than offering generic advice.

Delegates will gain:

  • A clear understanding of key safeguarding updates for 2025 to 2026 and what they mean in practice
  • Confidence in preparing for inspection, including likely lines of enquiry
  • Practical guidance on strengthening safeguarding records and managing low level concerns
  • Insight into emerging themes including attendance and RSE
  • Time to reflect on their leadership role and leave feeling re-energised

This is not just an update session. It is an opportunity to step back, sense check your practice, strengthen your systems and reconnect with the purpose behind your role as a safeguarding leader.

Ella Savell-Boss Ltd works with over 50 schools and organisations across the UK and internationally, providing supervision, training, safeguarding reviews and ongoing advisory support. The team maintains active safeguarding roles within schools and organisations to ensure all training is realistic, current and grounded in practice.
