This course will identify the 4 key phases of a critical incident pathway, and focus on the first two phases where speed and urgency are required. We will explore who is best placed to make decisions in these phases and how to then escalate potential risks to the school’s management team.

The practical application of these concepts will then be explored using table scenarios, giving participants the confidence to react calmly and correctly to sudden, dramatic events.

Course Aims:

To equip PAs and Reception staff on how to recognise the early stages of a critical incident and understand what action they need to initiate in the Golden Hour that will enable the school to manage events.

What you will learn

  • What a critical incident pathway looks like
  • The vital role of PAs & Reception staff in phase one and two in a 4-phase pathway
  • How to effectively mobilise the wider Senior Leadership team.
