Richard is a highly regarded road transport solicitor with notable expertise in providing specialist regulatory and compliance advice. He has over 15 years’ experience in the speciality of regulatory road transport, covering compliance and best practice as well as public inquiries and related appeals.
He acts for road transport operators, their transport managers and drivers in relation to a wide variety of criminal and regulatory matters, including DVSA investigations and Public Inquiries before Traffic Commissioners.
As well as his legal qualifications, he holds Certificates of Professional Competence in National and International Passenger Transport and Road Haulage Operations as well as the City & Guilds Certificated Exam in Digital Drivers’ Hours Recording Equipment Systems.
A significant part of Richard’s practice includes providing specialist advice on the regulatory frameworks applicable to minibus, coach & bus, ‘small PSV’ and private hire operators as well to those who run HGV operations. He also advises on the regulatory aspects of commercial acquisitions. He has been retained as a tachograph expert in a high value High Court litigation case.
He has written articles for a specialist road transport subscription service over many years, and he lectures on current road transport topics.
