Date(s) - 21/09/2020
8:45 am - 2:15 pm
This course will be run online via Zoom. Full details of how to join will be sent in advance of the day.
Suitable for: The course is suitable for the person responsible for maintaining the Single Central Register (SCR) and also for those members of leadership and governance whose roles include the oversight of safer recruitment and monitoring the SCR.
The course focuses closely on the requirements of the SCR, with a step-by-step journey through each recruitment check and how it should be recorded. Delegates will be able to ask questions about and discuss their own SCR and its challenges.
Aims of the course:
The course aims to give delegates greater confidence in maintaining the SCR in the context of a seemingly ever-changing background of recruitment requirements. They will gain an insight into what the inspector will be looking for and how the SCR will be scrutinised at inspection.
You will leave the course with:
- A secure understanding of regulations relating to the SCR and recruitment
- The knowledge of how to present the SCR at inspection
- The confidence arising from detailed discussion and the study of worked examples
Course tutor: Chris Sanderson
Feedback from previous delegates
When asked which parts of the course delegates found most valuable they said:
“The practical element where we could use our own SCRs and our own SR policy. I also liked that it was a small group so the leader was able to help us all out with our individual queries for which there was plenty of time.”
“Learning what is the preferred layout for the SCR and exactly what it should include. Dismissing some myths about what should and shouldn’t be done in the recruitment process and clarifying grey areas.”
“As it was limited numbers it gave a good opportunity to raise many questions particular to our setting.”
