A celebration of champions at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium

Earlier this month, ISA hosted its 60th annual National Athletic Finals. We were thrilled to hold the event at the recently renovated Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, which underwent a £70 million redevelopment in 2020. The state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated staff provided an excellent experience for all 840 of our competing athletes who arrived from 167 ISA Schools. Prior to the Finals, each of the seven ISA regions—North, Midlands, East Anglia, London North, London West, London South, and South West—held their own regional athletics competitions. This rigorous qualification process means that every competitor present has already achieved an impressive milestone.

Their dedication, skill, and athletic prowess were evident as they earned their place at this prestigious event. These athletes have proven themselves to be among the best in their regions, showcasing their talents and hard work. Their journey to this point has been marked by determination and success, setting the stage for an exciting and highly competitive event today.

An event of this magnitude would not be possible without the support of our corporate sponsor, Crimson Education, and our regional event organisers, who dedicated their time and energy to support the athletes. This year, we were fortunate to have 70 officials adjudicating events. All of this support came together to ensure the day ran smoothly and successfully.

We were honoured to have Vernon Samuels, an elite member of Team GB, as our guest athlete at the 2024 National Finals. During his ten-year athletic career, Vernon represented Great Britain in the Men's Triple Jump at the 1998 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea, and competed for England at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland, New Zealand.
