The course focuses closely on the requirements of the SCR, with a step-by-step journey through each recruitment check and how it should be recorded. Delegates will be able to ask questions about and discuss their own SCR and its challenges.
Aims of the course:
The course aims to give delegates greater confidence in maintaining the SCR in the context of a seemingly ever-changing background of recruitment requirements. They will gain an insight into what the inspector will be looking for and how the SCR will be scrutinised at inspection.

Previous posts: State Sector – Deputy Head Lower School in a large comprehensive school, responsible for pastoral care, primary secondary transfer and identification of SEND and establishment of a specialist department, took part in pilot training for school counsellors at Birmingham University.
Independent Sector – Head of Department, Director of Studies, Head and Acting Head in ISA schools, Cambridge University short courses in school improvement and masters degree in curriculum and achievement studies, long serving team inspector for ISI.
Currently: An independent educational consultant and also reporting inspector for ISI. Interests include boarding, SEND, creative arts.
