Suitable for: Staff and Senior Leaders at schools of all age ranges who are supporting pupils whose first language is not English

What will be included:

  • Understanding the needs of EAL pupils in mainstream education
  • Difficulties teachers may face in planning for integration of EAL pupils within their subject areas
  • Effective use of resources and material to aid EAL pupils
  • Techniques and methodology to use with EAL pupils

The session will look at the specific subject areas of the teachers who will attend and deal with some of the problems they face when teaching pupils who do not speak English well. During the session teachers will learn how best to help their non-English speaking pupils achieve.
