Cake sales to ‘Splat the Teacher’ – ISA schools hold fundraisers for Macmillan Cancer Support, thousands raised

Plenty of ISA schools from across the United Kingdom raised funds for Macmillan Cancer Support by hosting Macmillan coffee mornings and through other charitable activities. Red House School in Stockton-on-Tees, Durham, who are seen in the featured image of this article, held a bake off as part of their coffee morning and raised over £427: Hydesville Tower School in Walsall raised over £100 after the catering team, parents and other members of the Hydesville community all came together to provide cakes that were sold: Lady Lane Park Prep School in Bingley, West Yorkshire, contributed over £260 to the life-saving  charity thanks to the efforts from pupils and their families: Alton School in Hampshire drummed up almost £600 after the PTFA (Parents, Teachers and Friends Association) organised a coffee morning which had all sorts of sweet treats on offer, look at those delicious cakes and cookies:  St Joseph's School in Nottingham showed that they're a small school with a big heart as they raised over £196 thanks to the efforts from their school community: Myddelton College in Denbighshire, Wales, raised a staggering total of £600 after their Macmillan Coffee Morning event that also featured a raffle. Everyone made sure to represent the green colours of the school and charity with their baking: Ghyll Royd School in Ilkley, Yorkshire, had their School Council leaders and parents to thank for organising their coffee morning, which raised over £204. Look at those beautifully decorated cupcakes: Westonbirt School in Gloucestershire raised over £450 after Year 6 arranged a cake sale using treats baked by pupils from Years 3-6, look at the lovely creations from the children below: Avon House Prep School in Woodford Green, Essex, had Mrs F to thank for the baking for their Macmillan Coffee Morning, which raised over £400: St Bees School in Cumbria laid on a lovely set of cakes for their sale owing to the hard work of their cooking students. They didn’t stop there though as they also held a raffle as part of the brilliant ‘Splat the Teacher’ event that many of us would’ve wished for during our days at school. After five members of staff embraced the slap of a wet sponge in the name of charity, St Bees raised over £508: Breaside Prep School in Bromley, Kent, raised a phenomenal amount of over £2,300 for Macmillan Cancer Support thanks to the generosity of the parents and staff in their community. A raffle was also held alongside the cake sale: Moor Allerton Prep School in Manchester held a bake off for pupils and their families as part of coffee morning and contributed over £680 to the charity due to their fundraising efforts: Hollygirt School in Nottingham found a way to combine Macmillan Coffee Morning with the European Day of Languages in a bake off. What a creative way for the school to embrace culture and charity. Year 11s played a key part in the £438 raised with face painting as well: Hulme Hall Grammar School in Stockport raised over £638 for the vital charity as they sold off some scrumptious looking cakes: Staff at Belmont School, Dorking, baked all sorts of cakes and were able to £277.50 for Macmillan with their sale: It’s no surprise to see that Tranby School in Hull raised over £800 for charity when you look at the stunning cake and biscuits that were up for grabs as raffle prizes: Adcote School for Girls, Shrewsbury, sold over 1000 raffle tickets as part of their Macmillan Coffee Morning fundraiser, which was organised by the team of Sixth Form prefects. Over £534 was raised as the entire Adcote community (prep school pupils, seniors, staff and parents) got involved: Lingfield College in Surrey raised over £150 after selling cakes that were donated and also ones that were baked by the school community. That rainbow cake is arguably the most creative we’ve seen:  Bridgewater School in Manchester held their Macmillan cake sale as a breaktime treat event, which was organised by Year 13 and the school’s dedicated charity coordinators. It looked like sprinkles galore as there were donuts and brownies also on offer. We’re not surprised to see that the creations were snapped up and £565 was raised: The Mulberry House School over in West Hampstead also hosted a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, with stalls full of some amazingly designed cakes and cupcakes and also other sweet treats like cookies. With the whole school community behind the efforts, over £530 was raised for the charity.
