These days children are increasingly exposed to ideas and social norms that re-enforce substance use from an early age – even if it’s simply linking alcohol and ‘energy’ drinks to certain sports. As kids get older, they often start to question the life lessons they hear from parents and teachers. They become more heavily influenced by the things they see on social media, the internet and TV. In this session Liam Watson, Director of Drugstraining.com, will explore how we should educate our primary school aged children about substance use, and give an overview of both the protective and risk factors for later drug use problems.
