Suitable for: those already in a Middle Leadership post, those aspiring to such a role or those who have an interest in achieving excellence in curriculum design and learning.

The first leadership step for those with a vision for learning, is to seek and grasp the opportunity to lead a subject or a phase of learning. Academic leadership at middle leader level is fundamentally important to the progress of our pupils and the success of our schools. This course will cover essential elements such as curriculum design, highly effective learning, team leadership and how to harness research to build reflective CPD opportunities.

Delegates will gain an understanding of the underpinning factors involved in developing high quality learning, and how to apply those in a practical manner.

You will learn 

  • The traits and actions required to be an effective middle leader
  • How to plan and deliver a rich and integrated curriculum
  • The nature of high impact learning and the place of evidence based practice and professional learning
