This course is for those staff who are looking to become HOD, subject leader or Head of Year. It provides an introduction to the role and the management and leadership skills required to make a success of it.

Who should attend?
Aspiring Heads of Department, Subject coordinators, Heads of Year and Key Stage

Aims of the course are to:

• Develop the leadership skills needed and to understand the link between successful leadership and school improvement
• Develop the role and leadership capacities of middle leaders
• Develop the strategic leadership skills necessary to work more effectively in a whole school role
